Paulette boarded a plane last Wednesday for a week long business trip.
She spent two days in Sacramento with her sister
before
heading over the mountain to count Widgets on Saturday and Sunday.
I talk to her this morning. Everyone in Reno has a
cold so she said she would bring me one.
I
had my first interview with a company two weeks ago. It was a
three member panel interview which went really well.
They called back to tell me they hired
their outside auditor
because he has more experience with the company. Insert your
auditor joke here. They did
tell me that there is another opening (I had already applied) and had
highly recommended
me to the other manager.
On
Monday (last week) we received four checks (three for $275 each) from
the Nevada
DMV. This came as a big surprise especially since
they did
not refund our auto fees when we left Nevada. They even had
our current address.
Friday
I had my first interview set up by a search firm in Norcross
with the Inventory Control Manager of After Hours Formal Wear.
Accountemps gave me the
lead. I left here at 2:15 for a 3:30 appointment
and arrived at 4:00. The
interview went well but the interviewer also lives in Marietta, and she
did not want me to make that commute. I was still excited as
I drove
home, but it soon dawned on me that it would not work. Three
hours a
day on the road, plus $9 a day for gas is just too much.
Needless
to say, I am still in the market.
I
have three good leads for this week.
Happy
Halloween.
